This all began in 2021 when our founder, Alyssa, first picked up knitting needles and quickly switched to a crochet hook. It started as a creative hobby, and then quickly grew into a deep passion! With lots and lots of time and practice, and frustration, Alyssa grew her skills enough to begin writing her own crochet patterns. This is when a whole new world of possibility opened up! Through these patterns, she discovered the joy of helping others create beautiful, one-of-a-kind garments that fit them specifically.

But like many creative journeys, it wasn’t without hesitation. Alyssa would often doubt herself and her skills. After graduating college, Alyssa took a full-time job, only to realize she was meant for more. Crochet and fashion were begging for her to come back and embrace her gifts. That’s when she decided to go all in and bring The Soulful Now to life.

The Soulful Now was built to teach others how to crochet garments, spark new inspiration, and eventually will become a space where you can find complete outfits to pair with your handmade pieces. Every crochet pattern is designed with inclusivity and confidence in mind, so everyone can feel comfortable and like themself in what they wear. We call that Cozy Confidence and Style for the soul! 

We’re still a small team, only two, with lots of help from family, but we’re growing every day with every new design and every new member of this community.

Our mission is to help women find their unique style through comfy clothes, learn to crochet their dream wardrobes, and be able to have the tools needed to turn their creative passions into thriving pattern businesses, if a person chooses to do that.
